Michael Corey is senior news applications developer at the Center for Investigative Reporting in Berkeley, Calif. A 2002 graduate of Drake University in Des Moines, Michael worked as a digital content editor for the Des Moines Register, for its youth tab, Juice, and then as Register‘s digital projects editor. His work on Iowa Caucus coverage in 2007 won a National Headliner award for distinguished online journalism. He moved to California three years ago. Kyle McCall is a designer for the Daily Camera in Boulder, Colo. A 2005 graduate of Southern Illinois University, Kyle spent two yeas as a designer and copy editor for the Richmond County Daily Journal of Rockingham, N.C. before moving to the Tribune-Star of Terre Haute, Ind., in 2007. Simone Puterman is editor-at-large for MarkLives, a site that covers media in South Africa. She’s based in Johannesburg but is currently based in Paris. A 1996 graduate of Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa, Simone sent seven years with WriteStuff, a niche and business-to-business publisher. She moved to 3S Special Editions in 2005 and then to BizCommunity in 2007. She started there as an assistant editor and was promoted to senior sub-editor, managing editor in 2010 and then to editor-at-large in 2012. She moved to MarkLives last year. Sam Noblett is a freelance writer and photographer in Fort Collins, Colo. A 2012 graduate of Colorado State University, Sam shot for the student paper there, the Rocky Mountain Collegian, served as chief photographer in 2010 and then editor-in-chief his senior year.
